New Delhi: The Supreme Court announced that it will examine the possibility of issuing directives for the cashless treatment of road accident victims, along with enabling online compensation transfers.
A Bench comprising Justices Abhay S. Oka and Augustine George Masih scheduled to address the matter tomorrow.
In its August 20 order, the court stated,
“Directions will need to be issued regarding the accompaniments of Form III, as outlined in the Compensation to Victims of Hit and Run Motor Accidents Scheme, 2022, to enable the General Insurance Corporation of India to facilitate online transfers to the accounts of those entitled to compensation. Another issue we must address is the provision of cashless treatment for road accident victims.”
