BREAKING: Supreme Court Grants Bail to Ramprastha Group MD Sandeep Yadav in ED Case

The Supreme Court of India granted regular bail to Sandeep Yadav, Managing Director of Ramprastha Group, arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on July 21, 2025, after months in custody, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.

The Bench comprising Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma allowed the plea and granted regular bail to Sandeep Yadav.

During the course of proceedings, and in view of the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case, the Supreme Court permitted the petitioner to convert the proceedings into a plea for grant of bail.

Taking into account that Yadav had already undergone approximately eight months of incarceration, the Court considered the request for bail.

The Court noted the duration of custody and the overall circumstances of the case as key factors in granting relief.

Background of the Case

Sandeep Yadav was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with alleged financial irregularities. Challenging the legality of his arrest, Yadav approached the judiciary.

However, his plea was dismissed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Subsequently, Yadav filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the Supreme Court, seeking relief against the High Court’s order.

The Enforcement Directorate carried out searches on July 21, 2025, at three premises in Delhi and Gurugram including both residential and business addresses linked to the accused under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

The agency alleges that RPDPL raised roughly Rs 1,100 crore from more than 2,000 homebuyers across several real estate projects: Project Edge, Project Skyz, Project Rise, and Ramprastha City (a plotted-colony development).

Although the company collected payments over a period of 15–20 years, it is reported to have failed to hand over possession of the promised flats and plots.

The assets linked to the alleged fraud include extensive plotted developments within Ramprastha City, spanning approximately 226 acres across Sectors 37D, 92, and 95 in Gurugram.
