BIHAR: Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar government minister, is again in headlines because of his personal life. His divorce case with wife Aishwarya Rai was heard in Patna Civil Court’s family bench Today (May 29).
On behalf of Tej Pratap, senior lawyer Jagannath Singh was present in the court. For Aishwarya Rai, her junior lawyer Raj Kumar Srivastava appeared in place of her main lawyer.
Tej Pratap Yadav and Aishwarya Rai got married on 12 May 2018 in a grand ceremony. Many big politicians and VIPs were present at the wedding. But soon after marriage, problems started in their relationship. Fights and accusations followed, and the situation worsened.
Aishwarya Rai accused Tej Pratap and his family of bad behavior. The matter became serious and on 3 November 2018, Tej Pratap filed a divorce case in the court. Later, on 13 September 2019, Aishwarya left Tej Pratap’s house. Since then, the case is going on in court.
In the recent hearing on 29 May, neither Aishwarya nor Tej Pratap appeared in person. The next court hearing will take place on 21 June.
Aishwarya’s Big Settlement Demand
According to sources, during the settlement talks between both families, Aishwarya Rai’s side has put forward a huge demand. She has asked for a lump sum of Rs 36 crore for the final settlement of the divorce.
Not just that, she also wants a new house, a car, driver, and a servant for herself.
Also, Aishwarya has demanded a house in a posh area of Patna and a fixed monthly allowance of Rs 1.5 lakh for her living expenses. Reports suggest she has already submitted this demand in the family court.
Who Is Aishwarya Rai?
Aishwarya Rai is the granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Rai. Her father Chandrika Rai was given a Lok Sabha ticket from Saran in 2019 by Lalu Prasad Yadav, but he lost the election.
Things between both families turned bad very quickly after the wedding. Aishwarya made serious allegations against Tej Pratap’s mother Rabri Devi and said:
“Rabri Devi pulled my hair, beat me and threw me out of the house. The guard at Rabri’s residence also beat me. Rabri Devi snatched my phone. She insulted my parents.”
This incident became a big issue in the media at that time. After the alleged assault, Aishwarya’s father Chandrika Rai and his wife reached Rabri Devi’s residence with force, and the police was also called. Since then, both sides are in serious dispute and the divorce case continues in court.
Facebook Post Creates New Controversy
Just one day before the latest court hearing, another controversy started. From Tej Pratap Yadav’s Facebook account, a post went viral claiming that he has been in a relationship with a girl named Anushka Yadav for the past 12 years.
This post created a lot of buzz on social media. But soon after, Tej Pratap made a statement saying that his Facebook account was hacked. He said someone is trying to defame him and his family by misusing his photos and account.
But the matter didn’t stop there. After this viral post, Lalu Prasad Yadav reportedly took a strict step and removed Tej Pratap from both the family and political party.
The situation is very serious, and now everyone is waiting for the next court hearing on 21 June, where more clarity is expected regarding the divorce and settlement terms between Tej Pratap Yadav and Aishwarya Rai.
