Badayun, UP: A tragic incident unfolded Today (03/02/2024) when a civil court judge was found deceased at her official residence in Badayun, in what appears to be a case of suicide. Justice Jyotsana Rai, originally from Mau, had been serving in Badayun for the past year. When she failed to respond to knocks on her door on Saturday morning, her assistants alerted the authorities, according to sources.

Following the report of the incident, the district judge, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and other judicial officers promptly arrived at Justice Rai’s home.

Additionally, a forensic team arrived at the location to gather evidence.

Justice Rai had transferred to Badayun from Ayodhya a year prior, marking her second assignment.

At the time this report was prepared, a significant gathering of judicial staff and attorneys had convened at the residence of the judge.

It is not immediately clear what prompted Rai to take the extreme step.
