The chargesheet accuses Prajwal Revanna of raping a woman who had been employed as the family’s domestic help, while HD Revanna has been charged with sexual harassment.
According to the chargesheet, HD Revanna is listed as accused number one and has been charged under Sections 354 and 354(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Prajwal Revanna identified as accused number two, facing charges under Sections 376, 376(2)(k), 354, 354(A), 354(B), among others.
The chargesheet includes over 130 witnesses and contains forensic evidence confirming that the man in the video clip of the alleged sexual assault and rape is Prajwal Revanna.
It further alleges that HD Revanna sexually harassed the domestic worker multiple times between 2019 and 2022 when she employed at their home. Prajwal Revanna allegedly raped the victim in 2020 when his mother, Bhavani Revanna, brought the victim to the city to clean their house.

The allegations against Prajwal Revanna came to light after over 2,900 videos depicting the sexual assault of several women circulated online, including on social media.
A first information report (FIR) filed against Prajwal Revanna and HD Revanna on April 28 under Sections 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the IPC at the Holenaraseepur town police station in Hassan district. The criminal case initiated based on a complaint from one of the victims, and the SIT, led by senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer BK Singh, is conducting the investigation.
