Sultanpur (UP): Today(on 11th July), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh surrendered before an MP-MLA court in connection with a case related to the alleged violation of Covid-19 norms in 2021. Following his surrender, the court granted him bail.
According to his advocate, Madan Pratap Singh–
“Sanjay Singh surrendered in the MP/MLA court here in response to a bailable warrant issued by the court. The hearing took place before Special Magistrate Shubham Verma, who granted Singh bail upon payment of a Rs 20,000 bond.”
The court had previously issued the warrant against Singh due to his failure to appear in several hearings. This case stems from an FIR registered at the Bandhu Kala police station on April 13, 2021. The FIR alleged that Singh held an election meeting at Hasanpur village in support of AAP’s district panchayat member Salma Begum, according to Special Public Prosecutor Vaibhav Pandey.
