The incident in question occurred on January 16 when Saif Ali Khan, 54, was attacked by an intruder at his apartment in the high-end Bandra area of Mumbai. The actor was reportedly attacked with a knife multiple times.

Mumbai, April 1 – The Sessions Court in Mumbai has directed the Mumbai Police to respond to the bail application of Mohammad Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national, who was arrested for allegedly stabbing Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan earlier this year.

Shariful Islam, 30, has claimed in his bail plea that he did not commit any crime and that a false case was filed against him.

His lawyer, Ajay Gawli, informed the media that the court has scheduled a hearing for April 4.

“The court asked police to file a reply,” said Gawli.

The incident in question occurred on January 16 when Saif Ali Khan, 54, was attacked by an intruder at his apartment in the high-end Bandra area of Mumbai. The actor was reportedly attacked with a knife multiple times.

Following the attack, Khan was rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. He was later discharged after five days.

In the bail application, it was mentioned that the investigation in the case was almost complete, and only the charge sheet was yet to be filed.

“The accused had co-operated with the investigation and no useful purpose will be served by detaining him further in custody,” the plea stated.

As of now, the police have not filed their response, and the court has set the next hearing for April 4, 2025.
