Suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna has filed a second bail plea before the special court hearing cases against lawmakers. He is facing serious rape allegations and seeks relief citing delays and changed circumstances in the trial process.

Suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna has sought bail for the second time from a special court handling cases against legislators in connection with a rape allegation.
Previously, Revanna’s initial bail request was denied, prompting him to appeal to the High Court, citing a change in circumstances due to delays in his trial.
Justice SR Krishna Kumar, On July 9, advised Revanna to pursue his bail request in the trial court. He mentioned that Revanna could return to the High Court if necessary after the trial court’s decision.
Following a request from Revanna’s lawyer, the High Court instructed the trial court to address Revanna’s new bail application within ten days once it is submitted.
As a result, Revanna has now filed for bail with the special court.
He is the primary suspect in four cases stemming from the circulation of over 2,900 videos showing the sexual assault of multiple women on various online platforms.
The first case was initiated in April of last year by a domestic worker previously employed at the Revanna family’s farmhouse. She alleged that Prajwal Revanna raped her repeatedly and threatened to release footage of the assaults if she spoke out, with the first incident reportedly occurring in 2021.
A trial court in Bengaluru has charged Revanna with several offenses, including rape, voyeurism, criminal intimidation, and the unauthorized distribution of private images.
The court, On July 18, reserved its judgment in the trial, which is expected to be delivered on July 30.
The other three rape cases against Revanna are still under judicial review.
Suspended JD(S) leader and former MP Prajwal Revanna is facing multiple rape and sexual assault cases, following the leak of over 2,900 objectionable videos involving several women. After fleeing the country in April 2024, he returned and is currently in custody.
