NEW DELHI: Today, 17th March, The Rouse Avenue Court has directed that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha be provided with copies of the charge sheet and supplementary charge sheet. This direction comes after Chadha filed a plea seeking monitoring of the investigation in the 2020 Delhi Jal Board office vandalism case.
Background
The case dates back to 2020 when Raghav Chadha filed a complaint regarding the vandalism at the Delhi Jal Board office. Subsequently, he also filed a plea to monitor the progress of the investigation.
On Monday, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Paras Dalal acknowledged Chadha’s application and stated, “The court would ensure that he got a copy of the charge sheets in view of your application.”
The case involves several accused individuals, including BJP MP Yogender Chandolia, BJP leader Adesh Gupta, and others. Due to Yogender Chandolia’s position as a sitting MP, the case has been recently transferred to the Special MP MLA Court.
During the recent hearing, Adesh Gupta was present physically in the court, while Yogender Chandolia attended via video conferencing. Advocate Prashant Manchanda appeared on behalf of Raghav Chadha and requested an exemption for Chadha, citing his involvement in a parliamentary session.

Charges Filed
The Delhi Police have filed the charge sheet under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and special acts, including:
- Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant)
- Section 269 (Negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life)
- Section 147 (Rioting)
- Section 148 (Rioting, armed with a deadly weapon)
- Section 149 (Every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object)
- Section 427 (Mischief causing damage)
- Section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act
- Section 3 of the Pandemic Act
The court had previously taken cognizance of the charge sheet and the supplementary charge sheet on April 29, 2023.
