Actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta has moved a Chandigarh court against fellow co-owners Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia. The legal move reportedly stems from a dispute over a recent board meeting.
Preity Zinta, co-owner of Punjab Kings and Bollywood actress, has initiated legal action against her fellow co-directors Mohit Burman and Ness Wadia in a Chandigarh court.
The trio serves as directors of KPH Dream Cricket Private Limited, the entity behind the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Punjab Kings.
Zinta is contesting the legitimacy of an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) that occurred on April 21, arguing that it was conducted without adhering to the proper protocols outlined in the Companies Act, 2013, and relevant secretarial rules.
She states that she expressed her objections via email on April 10, but these concerns were disregarded. Zinta claims that Mohit Burman proceeded with the meeting with the backing of Ness Wadia.
Although Zinta and another director, Karan Paul, were present at the meeting, she is seeking a court ruling to declare it invalid.
A primary concern for her is the appointment of Muneesh Khanna as a director during the meeting, which both she and Paul opposed.

In her lawsuit, Zinta has requested the court to prevent Khanna from acting as a director and to stay any decisions made at that meeting.
She also seeks an order prohibiting the company from conducting further board or general meetings without both her and Karan Paul’s presence, and without Muneesh Khanna, until the legal matter is resolved.
Despite these legal challenges, Preity Zinta has actively supported Punjab Kings from the stands during the ongoing IPL 2025 season, which has been a successful year for the team.
Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, the Punjab Kings have qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2014, currently holding 17 points from 12 matches and sitting in third place as they aim for a top-two finish.
The team’s upcoming matches include a game against Delhi Capitals in Jaipur on Saturday, May 24, and another against Mumbai Indians on Monday, May 26, to conclude their league schedule.
