[Breaking] NEET-UG Scam| CBI Apprehends Main Conspirator Jharkhand’s Dhanbad

Today, On 3rd July, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended the main conspirator involved in the NEET-UG scam from Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The scam, which has rocked the medical entrance examination system, involved tampering with the exam process. Authorities have been investigating the case to uncover the extent of the fraud.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) apprehended Aman Singh, a principal suspect in the NEET-UG paper leak, in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on Wednesday. This marks the seventh arrest by the central investigative agency as part of its ongoing probe into the NEET-UG exam 2024 scandal.

The CBI, On Sunday, apprehended the proprietor of a private school in Godhra district, Gujarat, marking the sixth arrest in the NEET-UG paper leak case. Dixit Patel, the owner of Jay Jalaram School located near Godhra in Panchmahal district, taken into custody for allegedly demanding between Rs. 5 lakh and Rs.10 lakh from candidates, assuring them improved examination scores.

Additionally, an FIR based on a reference from the Union Education Ministry calls for a comprehensive investigation into alleged irregularities in the medical entrance examination process.

According to Gujarat Police, Patel instructed the candidates not to attempt questions they were unsure about. The suspects allegedly conspired to fill out the answer sheets for 27 students, charging them Rs.10 lakh each, after the exam completed.

On June 29, the CBI arrested Jamaluddin Ansari, a marketing professional with a Hindi media organization, from Hazaribagh. This arrest followed the previous day’s detention of Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School, and Imtiaz Alam, the vice principal.

Officials stated,

“Haque had been appointed the city coordinator by the National Testing Agency for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2024).”

The National Testing Agency (NTA), which administered the NEET-UG exam on May 5, under fire for alleged irregularities, sparking protests nationwide. Demonstrators and political parties calling for the NTA to be disbanded.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised strict action against those responsible for the alleged NEET-UG irregularities.

In his response to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha, he said,

“The President mentioned the paper leak in her speech. I expect the entire house to rise above politics and discuss the issue. Unfortunately, it’s being politicised, which is concerning for the country’s future.”

The NEET-UG, administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admissions to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions, took place on May 5. The exam conducted across 4,750 centers in 571 cities, including 14 international locations, and attracted over 23 lakh candidates.
