Today, On 26th June, In the NEET paper leak case, a Patna court remanded two accused to CBI custody. The CBI is currently investigating six separate cases linked to the leak, with incidents reported in Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan.

Patna: Two individuals accused of leaking the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) question paper were placed in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody by a special court in Patna on Wednesday.
The accused, Baldev Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, remanded to CBI custody after the agency assumed control of the investigation from the Economic Offences Wing (EOU) of the Bihar Police.
Baldev Kumar, linked to the infamous Sanjeev Kumar alias Lutan Mukhiya gang, allegedly received the solved NEET-UG answer sheet in PDF format on his mobile phone a day before the exam, according to sources. Mukesh also reportedly connected to the gang.
Investigations revealed that on May 4, Baldev and his associates printed and distributed the solved answer sheets to students who gathered at a safe house in Ram Krishna Nagar, Patna, to memorize the answers.
The report indicates that thirteen individuals from Patna and five from Jharkhand currently in judicial custody. These suspects initially apprehended by the EOU before the case transferred to the CBI.
The CBI now investigating six distinct cases related to the NEET paper leak, with incidents reported in Bihar, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan.
Earlier this week, the EOU handed over the first information report (FIR) to the CBI, prompting the agency to commence investigations at several locations in Patna.
The CBI also conducted a search at the residence of the main suspect, Sikandar Yadavendu, a junior engineer with the Danapur town council, and another location in Patna.
A petition currently pending before the Supreme Court of India, alleging that the National Testing Agency (NTA) involved in manipulating Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets for this year’s NEET.
This matter is scheduled for a hearing on July 8, alongside various other petitions, including one filed by the NTA seeking to transfer NEET-related cases from various High Courts to the Supreme Court.
On June 20, the Court issued a notice regarding the transfer plea and stayed proceedings related to NEET in several High Courts.
Media reports also highlight that an unusually large number of candidates achieved perfect scores in the results published on June 4.
Candidates have raised concerns about irregularities in the awarding of compensatory marks due to time loss during the examination.
