Four individuals arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) for allegedly throwing a cow head inside a temple in Madhya Pradesh. This act sparked significant tension and outrage within the community. Authorities took swift action to address the communal sensitivity of the incident.
Jaora: A concerning incident occurred in Jaora town, Madhya Pradesh, On Friday morning, where two individuals allegedly threw severed cow body parts onto the premises of a local temple. This action led to heightened tensions and increased security measures within the community.
The incident discovered when the priest of the Jagannath Mahadev temple in the town of Jaora, located in Ratlam district, arrived at the temple premises in the morning. There, he found the bleeding head of a young cow on the temple grounds. The priest immediately notified the police and local community members about the discovery.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Manoj Kumar Singh, authorities promptly responded to the situation and arrested four individuals in connection with the incident. The suspects charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code for offenses such as hurting religious sentiments.
In a significant move, the National Security Act (NSA) has now been invoked against the four accused individuals. This exceptional measure, typically reserved for cases deemed a threat to national security, highlights the gravity of the situation and the authorities’ determination to maintain law and order in the town.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh Khakha identified the suspects as Salman Mevati (24), Shakir Qureshi (19), Noshad Qureshi (40), and Shahrukh Sattar (25). Mevati and Qureshi detained on Friday, while Noshad and Sattar were taken into custody on Thursday.
Khakha mentioned,
“Noshad has 20 cases against him and has previously been banished from the district.”
Deputy Inspector General Singh commented,
“There was an attempt to disturb the peace and harmony of the area. However, timely interventions prevented any escalation. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav instructed the police and administration to take stringent action.”
Consequently, the local authorities demolished the illegal sections of the homes belonging to the accused.
Following the incident, several Hindu organizations organized a protest and called for a shutdown (bandh) in the town of Jaora. Gaurav Puri Goswami formally lodged a complaint regarding the incident.

Security measures significantly heightened in Jaora following the incident to prevent any further disturbances.
Shahar Qazi Hafiz Bhuru of Jaora called for peace in a letter, stating,
“I urge everyone to maintain peace and harmony in the town.”
Authorities reiterated their dedication to maintaining order and ensuring the safety of the community.
