Chhattisgarh: A Special NIA Court in Bilaspur on Saturday granted bail to three individuals, including two nuns from Kerala, who were arrested last week in an alleged case involving forced religious conversion and human trafficking.
The accused have been identified as Preethi Mary, Vandana Francis, and Sukaman Mandavi.
According to reports, the trio was taken into custody last Friday at Durg railway station after a complaint was lodged by a local member of the Bajrang Dal.
The complainant alleged that the accused were involved in trafficking and forcibly converting three young tribal women from Narayanpur district.
The case quickly drew public attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and the involvement of religious figures. Police claimed that the three women with the accused were being taken away under suspicious circumstances, sparking accusations of a larger network of conversions and trafficking activities.
