A shocking brawl at Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court saw Harsh and his elderly mother assaulted by lawyers after he asked for his case file. Soon after, police registered an FIR against him on molestation and snatching charges.

New Delhi: Chaos broke out at Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court on Friday after a shocking incident where a client and his 70-year-old mother were beaten inside the court premises. The victim, identified as Harsh, alleged that he and his elderly mother were attacked by his own lawyer, Samuel Masih, along with a group of men described as goons, when he asked the lawyer to return his case file.
According to Harsh,
“Can you expect Justice when we have such Goons in the Courts?”
The matter became even more complicated after the assault. Instead of action being taken against the lawyer, Harsh found himself facing serious charges.
Police later clarified that the victims included a 70-year-old woman, her 42-year-old son Harsh, and her 40-year-old daughter who had come to the court for a hearing. Their proxy lawyer was present when the dispute began.
The scuffle reportedly started after Harsh asked for the case file and the lawyer refused to hand it over. Other advocates then joined in and allegedly manhandled the family inside the court.
On reaching the spot, a police team found a group of advocates manhandling several individuals. Both sides were taken to the police station for inquiry.
During investigation, police received two separate complaints from lawyers. The proxy lawyer alleged that Harsh abused and manhandled him.
Another female lawyer claimed that when she tried to intervene, she was
“abused, assaulted and had her gold chain snatched.”
Based on these complaints, two FIRs were registered at Subzi Mandi police station against Harsh.

A case of molestation and snatching was filed against him by a female lawyer. This happened soon after Harsh called the police and reported the assault.
Videos of the incident quickly went viral on social media. In the footage, Harsh can be seen being attacked by several lawyers. His shirt was torn as he was beaten in front of bystanders. His mother also tried to save him, but she too was pushed around during the violence.
Sources said the fight started after Harsh entered into a dispute with lawyers over his case file. “You are ineligible,” was reportedly heard during the heated argument between the lawyers and the client before the attack escalated.
In response to the viral video and the complaint, the Delhi Police confirmed that they have registered a first information report (FIR) against Harsh based on a complaint by one of the lawyers.
They also stated that a female lawyer has accused Harsh of molestation. Police officials added that the matter is under investigation and further action will be taken as per law.
This incident has once again highlighted the repeated clashes and violent episodes that have taken place at the Tis Hazari Court complex in Delhi. Back in 2019, the court witnessed a massive conflict between police officers and lawyers after a parking dispute.
That clash had turned extremely violent, leaving around 20 lawyers and police personnel injured, and several vehicles were damaged.
Lawyers at the time claimed that police had assaulted one advocate, which triggered the unrest. They alleged that four other lawyers who came forward to help were also beaten by police officers.

This version of events was strongly denied by the police, who maintained that their officials were only asking the lawyer to park in the designated spot as his vehicle was blocking traffic. They said this routine request led to an argument, which then turned into a full-blown clash.
The latest violence at Tis Hazari has once again raised concerns about the safety of litigants, ordinary citizens, and even senior citizens inside court premises, where law and justice are supposed to be upheld.
