Delhi Court to Resume Recording Wrestler’s Statement in Brij Bhushan Sexual Harassment Case on March 3

New Delhi: A Delhi court will resume the recording of the statement of a female wrestler who has accused former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual harassment on March 3.

The hearing, which was scheduled for Saturday, was adjourned as Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Vaibhav Chaurasiya was on leave.

In May last year, the court framed charges of sexual harassment and using force to outrage women’s modesty against Singh in the criminal case filed by female wrestlers.

Singh, who is a BJP leader, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial.

The court has also framed the charge of criminal intimidation against Singh in the case.

Apart from Singh, the court has also framed charges of criminal intimidation against co-accused Vinod Tomar, who was the former assistant secretary of WFI.

The case, which has drawn national attention, is a crucial legal battle in India’s sports community. The next hearing on March 3 is expected to be significant as the wrestler’s statement will be officially recorded.
