After reviewing the details, the judge decided that there was no valid ground to move forward with the defamation case.

New Delhi, April 3 – A Delhi court has dismissed a defamation complaint filed by Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit against AAP leader Atishi and AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
The case was heard by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Paras Dalal, who refused to proceed with the complaint.
The judge clearly stated, “I don’t see any imputation made out to defame the complainant. This court declines to take cognisance.”
The order came after the court heard arguments from both sides during the pre-summoning stage.
After reviewing the details, the judge decided that there was no valid ground to move forward with the defamation case.
Sandeep Dikshit, a senior Congress leader, had accused Atishi and Sanjay Singh of damaging his reputation.
His complaint alleged that both AAP leaders “deliberately causing harm to the goodwill of Dikshit.”
According to the complaint, Atishi and Sanjay Singh had made allegations against him in a press conference, where they claimed:
“Dikshit not only took ‘crores of rupees from the BJP’, but Congress had also colluded with the ruling party to defeat AAP.”
Sandeep Dikshit has strongly denied these allegations, calling them false and defamatory. He has stated that the accusations were made without any evidence and aimed to damage his reputation. Dikshit has sought Rs 10 crore in damages in the civil case, citing harm to his public image.
In the ongoing civil case, Advocate Sarim Javed, representing Dikshit, appeared before the Delhi High Court. The case, listed for hearing before Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, was adjourned and will now be heard in February.
In a related criminal defamation case, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi issued notices last week to Atishi and Sanjay Singh. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Paras Dalal has directed the AAP leaders to appear before the court on January 27, 2025, to respond to the charges.
