Previously, on June 10, the court sent Revanna to 14 days of judicial custody. However, today the SIT sought a body warrant against him in connection with a cybercrime case. The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court granted the SIT’s request, securing Revanna’s custody until Tuesday.

The court initially remanded Revanna to SIT custody until June 6 following his arrest on May 31, and later extended it until June 10.

The 33-year-old Revanna is the grandson of JD(S) patriarch and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. He had recently failed in his bid to retain the Hassan parliamentary constituency in the recent elections.

SIT officials arrested Revanna shortly after he arrived at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport from Germany on May 31.

Prajwal Revanna departed for Germany on April 27, just one day after the elections in Hassan. Prior to this, Interpol had issued a ‘Blue Corner Notice’ to locate him, based on a request from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

On May 18, a Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant for Revanna, following an application from the SIT. He apprehended for a case filed on April 28 in Holenarasipura, Hassan district, where he accused of sexually harassing a 47-year-old former maid. He is the second accused in this case, with his father, MLA H D Revanna, being the primary accused.

Prajwal Revanna faces allegations in three sexual assault cases and also has charges of rape against him.

The sexual abuse allegations emerged when pen-drives containing explicit videos purportedly featuring Prajwal Revanna allegedly circulated in Hassan before the Lok Sabha elections on April 26. Following these accusations, the JD(S) suspended him from the party.

Prajwal’s father, H D Revanna, and mother, Bhavani Revanna, are also embroiled in legal troubles. Both are currently out on bail in a kidnapping case that involves the abduction of a woman. This woman allegedly appeared in numerous videos of sexual assault that were purportedly linked to the political leader.

The legal proceedings against the Revanna family have drawn considerable media attention and public scrutiny. The allegations and subsequent arrests have added to the already complex political landscape in Karnataka. The involvement of high-profile individuals in such cases has raised questions about the integrity and ethical standards of public representatives.
