Today, On 25th October, The court directed Telangana Minister Konda Surekha to delete her post that alleged KT Rama Rao, known as KTR, played a role in the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The post stirred controversy as Surekha claimed KTR’s involvement was a reason for the couple’s split. This order comes amid rising tensions around the publicized separation and the claims surrounding it.

Hyderabad: A court in Telangana instructed state minister Konda Surekha to remove her social media posts that linked BRS working president KT Rama Rao to the divorce of actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya.

This ruling came during a hearing in a city civil court in Hyderabad, where Mr. Rao filed a Rs. 100 crore defamation lawsuit against the minister.

Earlier this month, Ms. Surekha, who serves as Telangana’s Minister for Forest and Environment, sparked controversy by claiming that KT Rama Rao, often referred to as KTR, was the cause of the 2021 divorce between Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.

She alleged that KTR, a former minister, had tapped the phones of actresses and blackmailed them, claiming he was behind the actors’ divorce.

She stated,

“It is KT Rama Rao who is responsible for (actress) Samantha’s divorce… He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of actresses, exploiting their weaknesses to blackmail them. He would make them drug addicts and then manipulate them… Everyone knows this, including Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, and their families — they are all aware that this occurred,”

In response, both actors issued separate statements, describing her remarks as “absolutely ridiculous” and urging the minister to “be responsible and respectful of individuals’ privacy.”

Renowned Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, father of Naga Chaitanya, filed a defamation suit against Ms. Surekha, asserting that her remarks harmed his family’s reputation.

Several other prominent actors, including Chiranjeevi, Jr. NTR, Mahesh Babu, and Vijay Deverakonda, also criticized the Congress leader’s statements. Facing significant backlash, Ms. Surekha issued an apology to the actors and their families.

She stated,

“I spoke about a family. It was an unexpected slip of the tongue on my part. When I saw their tweets, I felt bad. Realizing this, I felt regret for hurting someone, so I unconditionally withdraw my statement. But regarding KTR, there is no going back. I demand his apology,”

Akkineni Nagarjuna, a well-known Telugu actor and Naga Chaitanya’s father, took legal action against Konda Surekha by filing a defamation case, citing harm to his family’s reputation caused by her remarks.

The court’s directive for Surekha to remove the post is seen as a significant step in protecting the privacy and reputations of those involved, and it reinforces a legal standard against unfounded public allegations. This case underlines the importance of accountability in public discourse, especially when it concerns the personal lives of public figures.
