Today, On 18th June, A Bengaluru court extended the judicial custody of suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna for an additional 14 days. This decision came in response to a request from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Karnataka Police, who are handling the sexual assault case against him.
Bengaluru: A Bengaluru court, On Tuesday, extended the judicial custody of former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna by an additional 14 days. Revanna currently facing multiple charges of rape and sexual abuse involving several women.
The decision made by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court, after which the Karnataka Police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) transferred him to Parappana Agrahara prison.

The 33-year-old former JD(S) MP apprehended by Karnataka Police at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport upon his return from Germany on May 31.
He departed for Germany on April 27, the day after voting concluded in Hassan. Prior to his departure, Interpol issued a ‘Blue Corner Notice’ to locate him, following a request from the SIT made through the Central Bureau of Investigation.
On May 18, a Special Court for Elected Representatives issued an arrest warrant against Revanna based on an application by the SIT.
Revanna arrested in connection with a case registered on April 28 in Holenarasipura, Hassan district. The former MP, who recently lost his seat in the Lok Sabha elections from Hassan, became embroiled in controversy after explicit videos allegedly featuring him went viral on social media. A house help filed a complaint accusing the two men of sexual harassment and criminal intimidation. In response, the Karnataka government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the allegations against HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna.
Prajwal Revanna charged in three cases of sexual assault, including allegations of rape.
The incidents of sexual abuse exposed when pen drives containing explicit videos purportedly involving Revanna circulated in Hassan, just before the Lok Sabha polls on April 26.
Following the filing of these cases, the JD(S) suspended him from the party.

Prajwal’s father, H D Revanna, and mother, Bhavani Revanna, are also embroiled in legal troubles. Both are currently out on bail in a kidnapping case that involves the abduction of a woman. This woman allegedly appeared in numerous videos of sexual assault that were purportedly linked to the political leader.
The legal proceedings against the Revanna family have drawn considerable media attention and public scrutiny. The allegations and subsequent arrests have added to the already complex political landscape in Karnataka. The involvement of high-profile individuals in such cases has raised questions about the integrity and ethical standards of public representatives.
