A Hathras court has directed CO Sadabad to conduct a preliminary inquiry into a defamation case filed against Rahul Gandhi over his social media post on the Bulgarhi case. The matter will now be heard on December 4.
A defamation case has been filed against Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) and MP-MLA Court Judge Deepak Nath Saraswati in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh.
The court has directed the Circle Officer (CO) of Sadabad to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the matter. The next hearing in the case has been fixed for December 4.
According to advocate Munna Singh Pundhir from the District Bar Association, the complaint was filed by Ramkumar alias Ramu, a resident of a village under Chandpa police station in Hathras.
Along with him, two others—Luvkush and Ravi—have also filed complaints in the same court. The complainants have alleged that despite the court’s earlier decision, Rahul Gandhi visited Bulgarhi village on December 12, 2024, for “vote politics and caste hatred.”
The complaint further states that Rahul Gandhi
“deliberately posted the revival of the dead issue on his X handle on social media with the aim of humiliating and character assassination of the complainant in the society.”
It is also alleged that
“despite having full knowledge and knowledge of the court’s decision, he had accused the innocent youths of gang rape.”
