Supreme Court’s New Initiatives: CJI Chandrachud’s Park Visit

In a recent event, Chief Justice of India, D Y Chandrachud, accompanied by four esteemed judges, embarked on a visit to a newly refurbished park located within the Supreme Court’s premises. This visit, which took place on a Wednesday morning, provided an opportunity for the judiciary’s top brass to engage in meaningful interactions with leaders from the Bar.
The judges accompanying Chief Justice Chandrachud included Justices P S Narasimha, Hrishikesh Roy, Pankaj Mithal, and Manoj Mishra. Their tour didn’t just stop at the park. They also took the time to inspect the newly inaugurated ‘SuSwagatam Facilitation Centre’. Rohit Pandey, the secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), confirmed these details, stating,
“The CJI and justices… also inspected the newly established SuSwagatam Facilitation Centre.”
‘SuSwagatam’ is an initiative by the top court to help the visitors get e-passes needed to visit the court premises without difficulty. This center aims to streamline the process for visitors, ensuring a hassle-free visit to the court premises.
The establishment of the ‘SuSwagatam Facilitation Centre’ and the renovation of the park are seen as steps towards enhancing the infrastructure and visitor experience at the Supreme Court. Such initiatives not only improve the functionality of the premises but also foster a more inclusive environment for all stakeholders, including lawyers, litigants, and the general public.
