The 64th Sessions Court has dismissed actress Pavithra Gowda’s fresh bail plea in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case. She remains in Parappana Agrahara Jail after the Supreme Court earlier cancelled her bail.

Bengaluru: Actress Pavithra Gowda, who is the main accused (A1) in the sensational Renukaswamy murder case, has once again failed to get relief from the court. On Tuesday, the 64th Sessions Court in Bengaluru, presided over by Judge I P Naik, rejected her latest bail plea.

Pavithra had filed a fresh bail application after the Supreme Court recently cancelled her earlier bail. Her lawyer, Advocate Balan, argued strongly in her favour and requested the court to grant her bail.

But after hearing both sides and reserving the order, the Sessions Court was not convinced and finally dismissed the application, crushing her hopes of release.

Earlier, Pavithra had secured bail and was able to spend time with her family, look after her business, and also manage activities at her temple.

However, this relief was short-lived. Acting on a plea filed by the police, the Supreme Court cancelled the bail granted to seven accused persons in the case, which included actress Pavithra Gowda, actor Darshan, and their associate Pradosh.

Following the apex court’s decision, Pavithra was arrested from her home on August 14 and taken back to Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in Bengaluru.

Police have alleged that the case started when Renukaswamy, a fan of actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, sent obscene and offensive messages to Pavithra Gowda, who is known to be close to the actor. This angered Darshan, and according to investigators, it eventually led to the brutal murder of Renukaswamy.

His body was later discovered near a storm-water drain close to an apartment in Sumanahalli, Bengaluru, on June 9.

With the Sessions Court rejecting her fresh bail request, Pavithra Gowda will now have to continue in custody as the trial in this high-profile case moves forward.
