A Bengaluru court remanded Suraj Revanna to 14 days of judicial custody in connection with a sexual abuse case. Magistrate KN Shivakumar issued the order today during a special Sunday hearing held at his residence in National Games Village, Koramangala. The case’s urgency prompted the unusual timing and location of the hearing.

A 27-year-old man from Arkalgud taluk lodged a complaint against Revanna, accusing him of coercing him into homosexual acts at Revanna’s farmhouse in Gannikada village, Holenarasipur taluk, on June 16.
Acting on the complaint filed on June 22, the Holenarasipur Rural police detained Suraj Revanna at his farmhouse. He faces charges under Sections 377 (unnatural offences), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
