Vote Chori Exposed? | Hydrogen Bomb Coming: Rahul Gandhi’s Allegation on BJP & ECI Over Karnataka Voter Deletions

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the ruling BJP and the Election Commission of India (ECI), accusing them of orchestrating large-scale electoral fraud. Gandhi described his revelations as a “hydrogen bomb” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, claiming that systematic voter deletions and electoral roll manipulations are being carried out to weaken democracy in India.

Allegations from Rahul Gandhi’s Address

1. Systematic Deletion of Voter Names:

Gandhi alleged that thousands of voters are being deliberately removed from the electoral rolls in several constituencies. He claimed this exercise is not neutral but strategically targeted against communities traditionally supportive of the Congress, calling it a “planned and organised” effort to tilt the scales in the BJP’s favour.

2. Use of Software and Fake Applications:

According to Gandhi, technology is being misused in this voter deletion drive. He alleged that fake login IDs and applications, combined with special software, are being deployed to tamper with electoral data. He insisted this was not about clerical mistakes but an organised attempt at what he termed as “vote theft.”

3. Evidence from Karnataka’s Aland Constituency:

Providing a concrete example, Gandhi cited the Aland Assembly constituency in Karnataka. He claimed over 6,000 voter names were deleted there using fake logins. While he acknowledged that this was just one case that had been detected, he suggested that similar manipulations are happening across multiple constituencies and promised to release more evidence soon.

4. Sharp Criticism of the Election Commission:

The Congress leader accused the Election Commission, particularly Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, of shielding those responsible for these alleged manipulations. Gandhi claimed the poll body had abandoned its role as a neutral constitutional authority, calling it instead a “destroyer of democracy.”

5. The ‘Hydrogen Bomb’ Revelation:

Rahul Gandhi reiterated his earlier promise of dropping a “hydrogen bomb” of revelations. He claimed the scale of voter manipulation is so vast that once fully exposed, Prime Minister Modi would find it difficult to “show his face to the country.”

6. EC Blocking Karnataka CID Investigation:

Gandhi also highlighted an ongoing probe by the Karnataka CID into voter deletions. He alleged that the CID had written 18 letters over 18 months to the Election Commission seeking simple data points such as destination IP addresses and OTP trails related to the fake applications. However, he accused the EC of stonewalling these requests, suggesting it was actively protecting the masterminds behind the alleged fraud.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) countered Rahul Gandhi’s recent claim regarding “voter deletion,” asserting that all allegations made by the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha are “incorrect and baseless.”

In his latest statement, Gandhi claimed that voters, particularly from Congress-affiliated booths and communities, were removed using software. He specifically mentioned that over 6,000 votes had been deleted in the Aland constituency of Karnataka.

The ECI responded, stating,

“Allegations made by Rahul Gandhi are incorrect and baseless. No deletion of any vote can be done online by any member of the public, as misconceived by Rahul Gandhi.”

The Commission further noted that in 2023, there were unsuccessful attempts to delete electors in the Aland Assembly constituency, prompting the ECI to file an FIR to investigate the situation. According to their records, the Aland Assembly constituency was won by Subhadh Guttedar (BJP) in 2018 and BR Patil (Congress) in 2023.

Rahul Gandhi alleged that in the Aland Assembly constituency of Karnataka, around 6,018 names were wrongly removed from the voters’ list, and he claimed this was only a small part of a much bigger pattern of deletions. He said that false applications were filed by impersonating genuine voters and that the entire process was run through a centralised, software-based system instead of by individual persons.

According to him, the software was programmed in such a way that it automatically picked the first name from each booth for deletion, and mobile numbers from outside Karnataka were used to submit these fake requests.
