NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court of India (SCI) is offering a great chance for law graduates by announcing a recruitment drive for the position of Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate.

A total of 90 vacancies are available. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official SCI website starting January 14, 2025, and the last date to apply is February 7, 2025.

The examination for this recruitment will take place on March 9, 2025.

This is an excellent opportunity for law graduates to work closely with the judiciary and gain practical experience in legal research and analysis.

It also provides exposure to the functioning of India’s highest court.

Who Can Apply?

To apply for this role, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Law or an Integrated Law Degree from an institution recognized by the Bar Council of India.
  • Skills Required: Applicants must be skilled in research, analytical writing, and should have familiarity with popular online legal research tools like e-SCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, and Westlaw.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 to 32 years of age as of February 2, 2025.

Selection Process

The selection process will be conducted in three stages:

  • Objective Written Test: This test will assess the candidate’s knowledge of legal concepts and comprehension abilities.
  • Subjective Written Test: This stage will evaluate the candidate’s analytical thinking and writing skills.
  • Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates will face an interview round.

Both the objective and subjective written tests will be held on the same day at 23 different cities across India.
