A Karthik, a Supreme Court lawyer, has been appointed by CBI as the Special Public Prosecutor to handle Coalgate scam cases in the Supreme Court and other appellate courts.

Supreme Court Lawyer A Karthik Appointed CBI’s Special Public Prosecutor for Coalgate Scam Cases

NEW DELHI: Supreme Court lawyer A Karthik has been chosen as the Special Public Prosecutor by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to handle cases related to the Coalgate scam in the Supreme Court.

As per a notification from the Department of Personnel and Training, A Karthik will take charge of cases not only in the Supreme Court but also in other appellate and revisional courts wherever necessary, specifically for cases linked to the coal block allocation scam.

A Karthik completed his graduation in law from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) in 2008. Since 2011, he has been practicing as a lawyer in the Supreme Court, gaining vast experience in handling various legal matters.

In 2017, he reached a significant milestone in his career by becoming an advocate-on-record at the Supreme Court.

Apart from this, he also worked as a chamber junior under the guidance of Senior Counsel R Basant, which added to his legal expertise and practical experience in court proceedings.
