Today(27th August), An X user received a message from an individual impersonating Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud. The post quickly went viral on the platform, attracting widespread attention. The incident highlights concerns over online impersonation and the spread of misinformation. This viral post sparked discussions about the security and authenticity of communications on social media.

In the digital age, scams have become increasingly common, from online banking fraud to deceptive messages aimed at tricking individuals for personal gain. Although many scams are easy to spot, some can still cause significant harm.
A recent example involves a user named Kailash Meghwal, who received a message from someone impersonating Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud.
Meghwal shared a screenshot of the message on August 25, where the scammer introduced themselves as the Chief Justice and claimed to be in an urgent collegium meeting. The scammer further stated they were stranded in Delhi’s Connaught Place and needed Rs.500 for a cab, promising to return the money upon reaching the court.
Since being posted, the message garnered over two lakh views and more than 2,500 likes, with many people commenting on the post to share their reactions.
One person humorously commented,
“Send Rs.1,000 for the overconfidence he displayed!”
Another X user joked,
“I would have thought it was a scam, but since it was sent from an ‘iPad’, it’s definitely legit.”
X user Faisal Farooqui suggested a stern reply,
“You should say, ‘I must firmly warn you that interacting with strangers is highly reckless and carries significant risks of fraud, undue influence, and substantial liabilities. If you don’t stick to established, regulated channels, I caution you that you could face serious legal and financial consequences.”
Another person quipped,
“Defer the request for three weeks and assemble a three-judge bench to rule on it.”
