NEW DELHI: Justice Sanjiv Khanna assumed office as the 51st Chief Justice of India (CJI) on November 11, succeeding Justice DY Chandrachud, whose term concluded on Friday.

Justice Chandrachud, in his final address, expressed contentment with his tenure and sought forgiveness if he had inadvertently caused offense, stating, “I won’t be able to deliver justice from tomorrow, but I am content.”
