NEW DELHI: In an important development for the Indian judiciary, the President of India has appointed six experienced judicial officers as Judges of the Allahabad High Court.

This decision has been made “in exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India”, and after proper consultation with the Chief Justice of India.

Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal shared this news on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) on April 16, 2025, through an official announcement.

His post clearly stated:

“In exercise of the power conferred by the Constitution of India, the President of India, after consultation with Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint the following Judicial Officers as Judges of the Allahabad High Court-“

The names of the judicial officers who have been appointed are:

  • Jitendra Kumar Sinha
  • Anil Kumar-X
  • Sandeep Jain
  • Avnish Saxena
  • Madan Pal Singh
  • Harvir Singh

All six officers are mentioned to be “Appointed as Judges of the Allahabad High Court“, as per the official table shared by the minister.

This step strengthens the judiciary by adding more capable judges to one of the largest High Courts in India. It is expected that their experience and knowledge of the law will help in improving the speed and quality of justice delivery.

Such appointments are seen as vital for reducing the backlog of cases and ensuring that the judiciary remains efficient and responsive to the needs of the common people. The Allahabad High Court, with its heavy caseload, is likely to benefit greatly from these new appointments.
