PATNA: The Patna High Court has officially released Advertisement No. PHC/02/2025 is inviting online applications for the recruitment of 111 Stenographer (Group-C) posts. This recruitment drive offers opportunities in Pay Level 4 (Rs 25,500-Rs 81,100) plus allowances. The vacancies include 68 regular posts and 43 backlog posts from the 2022 and 2023 recruitment cycles.

The category-wise breakup of vacancies is as follows:
- Unreserved (UR): 32 posts (including 1 backlog)
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 6 posts
- Backward Classes (BC): 15 posts (7 backlog)
- Extremely Backward Classes (EBC): 26 posts (14 backlog)
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 30 posts (19 backlog)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 2 posts (2 backlog)
Reservation:
- Women Candidates: 44 posts (20 backlog) are horizontally reserved.
- Orthopedically Handicapped (OH) Candidates: 3 posts reserved within respective categories.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality:
Candidates must be Indian citizens or fall under eligible refugee/migrant categories with valid certification by the Bihar Government.
Age Limit (as on January 1, 2025):
- UR/EWS (Male): Up to 37 years
- UR/EWS (Female), BC/EBC: Up to 40 years
- SC/ST: Up to 42 years
- OH Candidates: Up to 47 years
Relaxations apply for government employees and Bihar domicile candidates as per the rules.
Educational & Skill Qualifications:
- Intermediate (12th pass) from a recognised board/university.
- Certificate in English shorthand and typing from a recognised institution.
- Minimum six-month computer application diploma/certificate.
- Typing Speed: 80 wpm in English shorthand and 40 wpm in English typing.

Selection Process
The recruitment will be conducted in the following stages:
- Written Test
- Part A: English shorthand computer typing test (85% accuracy required).
- Part B: Objective test (50 marks)
- English Language & Grammar: 30 marks
- Computer Awareness: 20 marks
- Part C: English typing test (90% accuracy required).
- Interview (10 marks)
- Minimum qualifying marks: 3
Minimum Qualifying Standards
- Objective Test: 40% marks
- Shorthand Test: 85% accuracy
- Typing Test: 90% accuracy
- Interview: 30% (3 out of 10)
Application Fee
- UR/BC/EBC/EWS: Rs 1100
- SC/ST/OH (Bihar domicile): Rs 550
Fee payment must be made online. Fees are non-refundable.
Exam Centre
- The exam will be held in Patna.
- The Court may allot additional cities if required.
Key Instructions
- Candidates can submit only one application. In case of multiple applications, the last valid submission will be considered.
- All reservation benefits require valid Bihar domicile and category certificates.
- No scribe or extra time will be provided for OH candidates.
- Candidates must appear for all stages of the recruitment process.
