Today, On 8th March, The NCP (SP) Women’s Wing President Rohini Khadse urged the President of India to grant women immunity for committing one murder. This demand, led by Rohini Khadse, comes in response to rising crimes against women. She emphasized the need to eliminate oppressive mindsets, rapist tendencies, and ineffective law enforcement. The appeal was made in a letter on International Women’s Day.

Mumbai: The women’s wing of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) addressed a letter to President Droupadi Murmu, requesting immunity from punishment for women who commit one murder due to the increasing atrocities against them.
Rohini Khadse, president of the women’s wing of the Sharad Pawar-led party, wrote this letter on International Women’s Day, stating that,
“Women wish to eliminate the oppressive mentality and rapist mindset, as well as address the ineffective law and order situation.”

She highlighted the alarming rise in crimes against women, referencing the recent gang rape of a 12-year-old girl in Mumbai.
Khadse emphasized in her letter,
“We, on behalf of all women, are demanding immunity (from punishment) to commit one murder,”
Which also critiques the state government’s handling of law and order. She cited a survey indicating that India is the most unsafe country for women, where crimes like kidnapping and domestic violence are rampant.
Khadse concluded,
“We hope our demand will be granted after giving it serious thought,”
International Women’s Day (IWD), celebrated annually on March 8, honors women’s achievements and advocates for gender equality. It highlights issues like women’s rights, violence against women, and workplace equity.
The day is marked by events, protests, and discussions worldwide. The 2025 theme is yet to be announced, but past themes have focused on empowerment, inclusion, and breaking barriers.
As India struggles with women’s safety, this strong demand has started new talks about justice, responsibility, and how the police and law protect women’s rights.
