Supreme Court Judge Praises Hospitality on Kashmir Visit: “Serenity of Its Landscapes Is Matched by the Professionalism of Its Security Forces”

A Supreme Court judge, after visiting Kashmir with family, said, “Serenity of its landscapes is matched by the professionalism of its security forces,” praising the region’s beauty, warm hospitality, and sense of safety throughout the peaceful trip.

Justice Augustine George Masih, a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, recently took a private trip to Jammu and Kashmir with his family.

Their itinerary included notable locations such as Gulmarg, Bisaran Road in Pahalgam, Dachigam National Park, the markets of Srinagar, and Dal Lake.

After the visit, Justice Masih remarked,

“Kashmir is a land of breath-taking beauty and unmatched warmth. My family and I felt not only deeply welcomed but also entirely safe and secure throughout our visit. The serenity of its landscapes is matched by the professionalism of its security forces.”

He expressed his pleasure at seeing tourists return to the Valley, stating,

“It is heartening to see tourists returning to Kashmir. Their presence reflects renewed confidence in the region’s hospitality and safety.”

Justice Masih’s comments contribute to the growing narrative of Kashmir as a peaceful and welcoming destination, increasingly attracting both dignitaries and tourists. (KNO)

Justice Augustine George Masih was born on March 12, 1963, in Ropar, Punjab. He received his primary education at St. Mary’s Convent School, Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh, and completed high school at Saifuddin Tahir High School, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.

He pursued a Bachelor of Science degree followed by an LL.B. from Aligarh Muslim University.

Justice Masih enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Punjab & Haryana on June 6, 1987. He practiced in constitutional law, service law, labor law, and civil law matters, appearing before various Tribunals, the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Delhi High Court, Himachal Pradesh High Court, and the Supreme Court of India.
