Today, On 10th January, Former Chief Justice of India (CJI) D.Y. Chandrachud will give the keynote speech at the 15th convocation of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) today. The event will gather students, teachers, and special guests to celebrate academic success. Chandrachud, known for his important decisions and work in the Indian judiciary, is expected to deliver an inspiring speech. This convocation is an important moment for JSS AHER, showing its dedication to quality education and overall development.

Mysuru: The 15th convocation of JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER) is set to take place on January 10 at its Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar campus. Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami, the chancellor of JSS AHER, will grace the ceremony, while Justice Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, former Chief Justice of India, will deliver the convocation address and present awards to the graduates.
Notably, female students excelled, with 43 out of the 56 medal winners being women. Among the top achievers, Subhradeep Dhar and SM Tejashree each secured four medals.
H Basavanagowdappa, Vice-Chancellor of JSS AHER, stated,
“A total of 2,795 students, including 1,660 female graduates, will receive degrees in various disciplines.”
Additionally, 104 scholars, of whom 63 are women, will be awarded PhD degrees. In total, 56 meritorious students will be recognized with 75 medals and awards for their exceptional academic performance.
Basavanagowdappa highlighted that JSS AHER has received the prestigious NAAC A++ Grade, positioning it among the top universities in Karnataka. In the NIRF 2024 rankings, the university made significant progress, achieving the 24th position among Indian universities. He noted that the university currently has 311 research projects sanctioned, valued at Rs 26 crore in 2024, which contributes to academic publications and patents.
The institution boasts 13,008 publications, with 1,150 added in 2024 alone, and has a Scopus H-index of 117, reflecting its research quality and impact.
Regarding placements, Basavanagowdappa emphasized that beyond medical and dental programs, which consistently see high demand, other courses, such as pharmacy, have also achieved impressive placement rates.
He added,
“We are nearing a 100% placement rate across various disciplines, reflecting the growing interest of companies in our graduates,”
B Manjunatha, the registrar; R Sudeendra Bhat, the controller of examinations; and deans Vishal Kumar and Ravisha were also present at the event.
