Indian-Origin FBI Chief Kash Patel Nails Pakistani ISIS Accused in Terror Plot: “He Will Face American Justice”

Indian-origin FBI Director Kash Patel announced a major development in a terrorism case. He shared that Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a Pakistani citizen living in Canada, has been extradited to the United States. He is accused of supporting the terrorist group ISIS and planning a deadly mass shooting at a Jewish center in Brooklyn, New York.

Kash Patel made the announcement on social media. He said,

“Major news… earlier this afternoon, Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, a Pakistani citizen residing in Canada, was extradited to the United States on charges of attempting to provide material support to ISIS and attempting to commit acts of terrorism.”

According to Patel, FBI teams and their partners successfully stopped the terrorist plans before any harm could be done.

He praised the joint effort and confirmed Khan’s arrival in the U.S., saying,

“Thankfully, the great work of FBI teams and our partners exposed those plans and shut them down.”

He added,

“He has now arrived in the U.S. and will face American justice.”

He emphasized that this case reminds us of the growing danger of terrorism across the world. Patel warned that there is a “constant threat of terrorism facing every corner of the world” and also pointed to the “disturbing rise in threats against our Jewish communities.”

Kash Patel also gave credit to various FBI field offices that were involved in catching Khan and making the extradition possible. These included offices in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

Although Patel is of Indian origin, many people in India have often criticized the United States for not taking stronger action against Pakistan-based terrorists. However, during Donald Trump’s presidency, that attitude seems to have changed.

Soon after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the White House, Trump approved the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, a key accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Rana, who has Pakistani origins, was sent to India in April to stand trial for his role in those deadly attacks.

However, another important figure in that case, David Headley, is still serving his sentence in a U.S. prison.

President Donald Trump had also strongly denounced a terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where over 26 innocent lives were lost.

He expressed his support by saying,

“PM Modi and the incredible people of India have our full support and deepest sympathies.”
