Today( 4th July) The Chief Justice DY Chandrachud ordered the consolidation of Registrar’s Courts into a full-time court, with sessions scheduled for both the morning and afternoon

NEW DELHI: Today (4th July): The Chief Justice DY Chandrachud ordered the consolidation of Registrar’s Courts into a full-time court, with sessions scheduled for both the morning and afternoon.

To facilitate the hearing of a larger number of matters, optimize resource utilization, manage cases effectively, and streamline the conduct of the Registrar’s Court in the Supreme Court of India, the Honorable Chief Justice of India has ordered the following:

The existing Registrar’s Courts (R-I and R-II) shall be merged into one Registrar’s Court,

The Registrar’s Court shall operate on a full-time basis with two sessions: a morning session from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm and an afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Ms. Sujata Singh, OSD (Registrar) (Judicial), shall preside over the Registrar’s Court on a regular basis, effective from 08.07.2024, until further orders.
