Kolkata: Today (29th June): The Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Shri D. Y. Chandrachud, visited Belur Math in West Bengal.
Belur Math, located in West Bengal, is a significant religious and spiritual center. It was established in 1897 by Swami Vivekananda, a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, as the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. The Math stands on the western bank of the Hooghly River, near Kolkata. The architecture of Belur Math is a blend of traditional Hindu, Christian, and Islamic styles, reflecting Swami Vivekananda’s vision of the harmony of religions. It has become a pilgrimage site for followers of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda, as well as a center for spiritual learning and social service.
He attended the bicentenary celebration of the Bar Library Club of the Calcutta High Court.
