The innovative CCMS portal was inaugurated by Agra Police Commissioner J Ravinder Gaur, marking a pivotal moment in enhancing transparency and efficiency in the city’s legal proceedings.
Commissioner Gaur highlighted that the portal was specifically designed with public convenience in mind. Agra’s Commissionerate Courts, which currently handle around 10,000 cases across 19 courts, urgently required a more efficient system for tracking court dates and case details.
With the introduction of the CCMS, individuals involved in legal cases can now access their court dates directly through their mobile devices, significantly reducing the need for frequent trips to the courthouse. This system is expected to make the judicial process more user-friendly and less burdensome for the public.
Moreover, the CCMS portal provides real-time monitoring capabilities for the police, enabling them to keep track of ongoing cases, including the number of times an individual has been cited for disturbing the peace, details of bail bonds, notices issued for encroachments, and the status of gangster-related cases.
This system will also help law enforcement agencies better manage and track fraudulent bailers, thereby enhancing the overall efficiency and integrity of the judicial process.
DCP Sonam Kumar announced that the launch of the CCMS portal was accompanied by the introduction of the Agra Police’s official website. This new website offers a variety of services to citizens, including the ability to apply for character verification and lodge complaints online.
It also provides comprehensive information about police officers, such as their names, photos, and contact numbers. Additionally, the website hosts 15 application links that are accessible for public use.
The CCMS portal can be accessed via the URL “https://ccms.agrapolice.in,” where citizens can also use their phone’s camera to scan a QR code, giving them access to various services offered by Agra Police.
The initiative has garnered praise from multiple quarters. Vishal Sharma, Secretary of the Agra Tourist Welfare Chamber, commended the portal, emphasizing its importance for a globally recognized tourist destination like Agra.
He noted that the portal will enable foreign tourists to file complaints online and track the progress of their cases even after returning to their home countries, thereby ensuring timely and effective legal action by the police.
Social activist and tourism professional Amir Qureshi also praised the initiative, stating that the CCMS had been a long-standing demand of Agra residents and would significantly benefit the city’s tourism industry.
He expressed optimism that similar systems would be rolled out across other districts in Uttar Pradesh, enhancing public trust in the police and helping to curb corruption.
