Senior Advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has declared assets worth about Rs 2,558 crore in his election affidavit filed with his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana, detailing family assets, income, liabilities, and financial interests.

Senior Advocate and Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi has reported assets totaling approximately Rs 2,558 crore in his election affidavit submitted alongside his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections from Telangana.

The affidavit, filed with the Returning Officer, details the assets owned by Singhvi, his spouse, and his Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), as well as information regarding income, liabilities, and various financial interests.

According to the affidavit, Singhvi declared an income of over Rs 374 crore for the financial year 2024–25. His reported incomes for previous years include over Rs 333 crore in 2023–24, Rs 359 crore in 2022–23, Rs 290 crore in 2021–22, and Rs 158 crore in 2020–21.

The affidavit provides an extensive breakdown of both movable and immovable assets held by Singhvi and his family. This includes details on bank deposits, investments in shares and mutual funds, vehicles, jewellery, and other valuables. Singhvi disclosed jewellery valued at Rs 2.40 crore, while his wife holds jewellery worth Rs 157.53 crore. The total value of artworks and paintings owned by Singhvi exceeds Rs 25 crore.

Among the immovable assets, Singhvi and his spouse own residential properties located in New Delhi. The affidavit also enumerates various financial investments and movable assets of significant value. It accounts for personal loans amounting to approximately Rs 353.32 crore provided by Singhvi, in addition to smaller loans and receivables. His spouse has declared loans to companies totaling around Rs 72.99 crore.

Notably, the affidavit includes a comprehensive inventory of household and office appliances classified as “other fixed assets.” This list features items like air conditioners, furniture, kitchen appliances, computers, and other equipment, with the depreciated value of a computer stated at Rs 163.

While the affidavit indicates that there are no criminal convictions against Singhvi, it does mention a prosecution complaint lodged by the Income Tax Department in 2014 concerning alleged under-reporting of income. Proceedings are currently pending in a Delhi court, with the matter stayed by the Delhi High Court, as noted in the disclosures.

Additionally, the affidavit reports income tax dues exceeding Rs 63 crore associated with Singhvi.
