Haryana: A Faridabad Court summoned renowned YouTuber and motivational speaker Sandeep Maheshwari on March 5. The summons was issued in response to a complaint filed by Dr. Vivek Bindra, another prominent motivational speaker, alleging defamation.
In an order dated March 5, Judicial Magistrate Sumit Turkiya highlighted specific language used by Maheshwari, such as ‘Scam’ and ‘#Stop Vivek Bindra’, which the court deemed detrimental to Bindra’s public image. The court concluded that Maheshwari’s videos on platforms like YouTube had a negative impact on Bindra’s reputation in the eyes of the public.
“The complainant has been able to prove the elements of Section 499 IPC. Whether the present case comes in any of the exceptions, it has to be pleaded and proved by the accused no.1 only,” it said.
