PM Criticizes Opposition

Rajasthan: In response to allegations from the Opposition that the BJP aimed to dismantle the Constitution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted during a Friday speech at an election rally in Barmer, Rajasthan, that his government holds utmost respect for it.

He stated,

“For this government, the country’s Constitution is paramount. Even if Babasaheb Ambedkar were to return, he would not be able to revoke the Constitution.”

The Prime Minister strongly criticized the Congress party’s assertion that the nation’s Constitution and democratic principles would be at risk if he secures a third term in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address remarked,

“By imposing emergency in the country, the Congress attempted to dismantle the Constitution, and now it hides behind the Constitution to criticize Modi,”

He continued by accusing the Congress of obstructing the posthumous Bharat Ratna honor for Babasaheb Ambedkar.

The Prime Minister stated,

“The Congress, which defeated Babasaheb Ambedkar in elections during his lifetime, prevented him from receiving the Bharat Ratna, and tried to dismantle the Constitution through a national emergency, is now resorting to falsehoods in the guise of upholding the Constitution solely to attack Modi,”

The Prime Minister emphasized,

“Modi was the one who first introduced the celebration of Constitution Day in our nation. I also developed the five pilgrimage sites connected to Babasaheb Ambedkar. It’s crucial to expose the falsehoods propagated by the Congress and the INDI alliance, who disrespect Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Constitution,”

PM Modi’s strong criticism of the Congress followed closely after Rahul Gandhi’s assertion that the “primary objective of Narendra Modi and the BJP is to dismantle Babasaheb’s Constitution.” The debate about the Constitution started when BJP MP Anantkumar Hegde stated that the party would require a two-thirds majority to modify the Constitution.

Nevertheless, the BJP distanced itself from Hegde’s comments, labeling them as a “personal opinion,” and requested clarification from him.

For those unfamiliar, Dr. B R Ambedkar the principal architect of the Constitution.
