Budaun, Uttar Pradesh, two minor children were brutally murdered by Sajid, a local barber. Following the crime, Sajid’s brother, Javed, has been remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody after surrendering to the police in Bareilly.

UTTAR PRADESH: On March 22nd: Budaun double homicide case, the brother of the key suspect was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. Javed was arrested on the night of March 20 in Bareilly, shortly following the brutal slaying of two young siblings in their residence, an act allegedly committed by his brother, Sajid, a local barber from Baba Colony in Badaun.
Javed was produced in the court of Chief Justice Magistrate by the Civil Lines Police on Friday.

Sajid, identified as the main perpetrator, met a fatal end during a confrontation with police forces mere hours after the heinous act. Javed turned himself in to the authorities in Bareilly. Before his surrender, he issued a video statement detailing his immediate departure to Delhi upon hearing of his brother’s crime, followed by his decision to turn himself in after receiving numerous calls about the incident.

Ahead of his surrender, Javed released a video in which he could be heard saying, “I ran straight to Delhi, and from there, I have come to Bareilly to surrender. I have received phone calls from people about what my brother did.”

The tragic event, which resulted in the loss of young lives, saw siblings Ayush, aged 12, Ahaan (also known as Honey), aged 8, and Yuvraj, aged 10, viciously attacked in their home. Ayush and Ahaan succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while Yuvraj was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention.
The case, which has captured public attention, led to an FIR being lodged against both Sajid and Javed following a complaint by the father of the deceased at the Civil Lines Police Station. The incident has prompted a broader discussion on community safety and the swift administration of justice in the wake of violent crimes.
“As there was a big crowd in Budaun, I went to Delhi. Now I have come to Bareilly to surrender because I have many call recordings in which I was told that my brother had committed murder. I don’t know why he has done this, as we had a good relationship with that family,” Javed told the police.
