26/11 Attacks | “Committed to Ensure Fair, Transparent Trial of Tahawwur Rana”: Patiala Court Bar Association

Today, On 10th April, The Patiala House Court Bar Association said it is fully committed to ensuring a fair and transparent trial for Tahawwur Rana in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case. They stressed that justice should be served without any bias. The association also assured full cooperation with legal procedures. This comes as India prepares for Rana’s extradition and trial.

The New Delhi Bar Association on Thursday pledged to ensure a fair and transparent trial for Tahawwur Hussain Rana, who is accused in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

The association assured that there would be no disruptions to law and order within the complex or interference in the judicial proceedings during Rana’s court appearance.

Secretary of the New Delhi Bar Association, Tarun Rana, said,

“Our bar association will ensure there isn’t any disruption of law and order within the complex or disturbance in the judicial proceedings as we are cautious of the seriousness and gravity of the case,”

He emphasized that “the issue is directly involved with the integrity of our country,”

He added,

“Hence as the office bearers of New Delhi Bar Association, our executive committee is committed to ensure fair and transparent proceedings, abiding the law of our country.”

Tahawwur Hussain Rana is a Pakistani-Canadian businessman accused of playing a key role in the deadly 2008 Mumbai attacks that claimed the lives of over 160 people and injured hundreds.

Indian authorities allege that Rana provided support to Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives, including David Coleman Headley, who conducted reconnaissance missions for the attacks.

Rana is facing charges of criminal conspiracy related to the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, which led to the death of over 174 people.

Rana has been fighting extradition from the U.S., where he is currently in custody.

The 26/11 attacks remain one of the darkest days in India’s history. As the country seeks justice for the victims, the assurance by the Patiala House Court Bar Association sets a strong example of legal integrity.

A fair and transparent trial for Tahawwur Rana is not just a legal necessity it’s a step toward closure for the nation.
