Winter Vacation Schedule Released by Himachal Pradesh High Court

The Chief Justice of the High Court has issued a notification outlining the schedule. As per the notification, the vacation bench will hear cases specifically from February 7 to February 9.

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh High Court has announced its winter vacation schedule. According to the notification, the court will remain closed for a winter break from January 13 to February 23. During this period, essential cases will be handled by a vacation bench. The Chief Justice and other judges will be part of this bench to ensure urgent matters are addressed.

The Chief Justice of the High Court has issued a notification outlining the schedule. As per the notification, the vacation bench will hear cases specifically from February 7 to February 9.

Judges’ Will Handle Cases During Winter Vacation

  • Justice Bipin Chandra Negi will handle cases during two periods: January 13 to January 19 and January 20 to January 26.
  • Justice Rakesh Kanthala will oversee cases from January 27 to February 20. Additionally, he will also handle cases from February 3 to February 6.
  • Justice Ranjan Sharma will preside over cases during the fifth week, specifically from February 10 to February 16.

Hearings during this period will primarily take place on Fridays. However, there is an exception for the week of January 13 to January 19, when the vacation bench will sit on Thursday, January 16. “During this time, only essential cases will be heard.”

Benches To Hear Cases During Vacation

  • Chief Justice Justice GS Sandhawalia will lead the bench on February 7.
  • Justice Ranjan Sharma will conduct hearings on February 14 and February 21.
  • Justice Bipin Chandra Negi will preside over hearings on January 16 and January 24.
  • Justice Rakesh Kanthala will be responsible for hearings on January 31.

“If any case requiring immediate attention arises during the winter break, it will be presented for hearing in the chamber of the vacation judge.”
