The Telangana High Court, On Friday, made a significant decision regarding the election of BRS MLC Dande Vittal, who had been elected from the Adilabad local body constituency of the Telangana Legislative Council. The court ruled that Vittal’s election illegal and void, based on an election petition filed by Congress leader Pathireddy Rajeswhar Reddy.
The core issue in the case, the alleged forgery of signatures on nomination papers. The Congress candidate argued that he had not withdrawn his nomination papers, and his signatures were forged, leading to an unfair election process.
He sought the court’s intervention to declare Vittal’s MLC election null and void and requested verification of the alleged forged signatures.
