MUMBAI: The Central Government appointed Senior Advocate Anil Singh as the Additional Solicitor General (ASG) of India for the Bombay High Court.

This is the fourth time that Singh has been given this position.

His appointment comes after Senior Advocate Devang Vyas resigned from the post of ASG for the Gujarat High Court and Bombay High Court in January 2025 to focus on private practice.

Anil Singh is a highly experienced lawyer with over 40 years of practice in the Bombay High Court. He had earlier served as ASG from 2014 to July 2023.

After completing his term, he decided not to extend it and returned to his private legal practice.

In 2011, he was unanimously chosen as the Chairman of the Bar Council. In 2012, the Bombay High Court designated him as a Senior Advocate.

He also served as the Acting Advocate General of Maharashtra for nearly five months in 2015.
