Shivnarayan Batham’s deteriorating health necessitated an urgent liver transplant. However, finding a suitable donor posed a challenge. His eldest daughter, Preeti, who is nearing legal adulthood, was found to be a compatible match. Despite being a minor, legal constraints required a petition to the High Court, filed on June 13, to allow her to donate.
Preeti underwent extensive medical evaluations to ensure her suitability as a donor. Her blood type matched her father’s, and subsequent medical assessments confirmed her fitness for donation. Following approvals from a medical board and governmental authorities, the High Court considered the urgency of Shivnarayan’s condition and granted the necessary legal permissions.
