Manjit Singh Sheoran, son of former Haryana minister Jogendra Singh Jog, has been appointed as the Registrar General of the Allahabad High Court, with the appointment orders issued by Registrar (Judicial Services) Rajneesh Kumar on September 27, 2025.
Manjit Singh Sheoran, son of former Haryana minister Jogendra Singh Jog, has been appointed as the registrar general of the Allahabad High Court, one of India’s oldest and most esteemed judicial institutions.
The appointment orders issued by Rajneesh Kumar, the registrar (judicial services).
The appointment communicated via an official notification from the High Court administration on September 27, 2025.
According to notification number 1602/Admin. (Services)/2025, Sri Sheoran, who is currently the District & Sessions Judge in Bulandshahar, will assume this important administrative role at the principal seat of the High Court in Allahabad.
Sheoran, a former district and sessions judge in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, joined the Uttar Pradesh Higher Judicial Service in 2013, achieving fourth place among successful candidates. His role as an additional district and sessions judge marked a significant milestone in his career.
Interestingly, his journey in the judiciary has seen its share of ups and downs.
In 2010, Sheoran passed the Rajasthan Higher Judicial Service exam, but the recruitment was subsequently cancelled. The following year, he excelled in the Madhya Pradesh Higher Judicial Service examination, only for that recruitment to be scrapped as well. Eventually, in September 2012, he sat for the UP Higher Judicial Service exam for 78 positions.
By December of that year, results showed that 45 candidates had qualified, and after interviews in January 2013, Sheoran secured the fourth spot on the final list of 38 selected candidates.
Born and raised in Hisar, Sheoran completed his schooling at Campus School, Haryana Agricultural University, and finished his higher secondary education at Dayanand College in Hisar. While his father was a minister in the Haryana government, Sheoran opted to pursue a career in law rather than entering politics or seeking a government position.
He earned his LLB from Delhi University and began his practice at the Hisar Bar Association. At the age of 35, he dedicated himself to preparing for competitive judicial examinations.
Sheoran comes from a family deeply embedded in public service. His elder brother, Jitendra Jog, is a BJP leader, while his second brother, Manbir Singh Sheoran, is an IPS officer in the Haryana cadre. His younger brother, Avtar Sheoran, operates a security agency based in Hisar and Gurugram.
Colleagues in the legal community in Hisar view Sheoran’s appointment as a proud achievement for the district, highlighting his determination despite the challenges he faced in judicial recruitment.
Members of the Hisar Bar fondly remember his early years of practice, where he established himself as a hardworking and disciplined lawyer before transitioning to judicial service.
