Today, On 19th December, The Karnataka High Court relaxed Bhavani Revanna’s bail conditions, allowing her to visit Hassan and Mysuru. Justice M. Nagaprasanna approved her request to travel to these districts for 15 days. This decision changes the earlier restrictions placed on her bail. The case remains a topic of interest as legal proceedings continue.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court granted Bhavani Revanna permission to visit the Hassan and Mysuru districts for the next 15 days.

Justice M. Nagaprasanna temporarily lifted one of the conditions set when she was granted anticipatory bail in a kidnapping case associated with sexual abuse allegations against her son, suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna.

The Court also announced that it would hear her request for a complete exemption from this condition on January 9, 2025.

Earlier, on June 18, another bench of the High Court approved Bhavani Revanna’s anticipatory bail, contingent upon her cooperation with the investigation and her absence from the Mysuru and Hassan districts, where the alleged crime occurred.

This bail order later affirmed by the Supreme Court.

Bhavani Revanna is accused of involvement in the kidnapping of a woman who was sexually assaulted by Prajwal Revanna. The kidnapping was allegedly an attempt to prevent the woman from filing a complaint. In April this year, over 2,900 videos documenting the assaults surfaced after pen drives containing the footage were found in various public places across Karnataka.

Bhavani and seven others, including H D Revanna, under investigation for alleged offenses under Section 364A (kidnapping for ransom) of the Indian Penal Code, which carries a potential life sentence. The investigation centers around claims that they forced a woman, who allegedly been sexually assaulted by Prajwal, to leave her home and go into hiding after videos of the purported incident surfaced in April.
