Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala High Court is set to embark on a new initiative of live streaming its Full Bench proceedings starting from Today (August 1). This development is part of a broader effort within the Indian judiciary to embrace digital solutions that make the legal process more open and inclusive to the public.
Unlike other courts that might opt for external platforms such as YouTube for similar broadcasts, the Kerala High Court has taken a unique approach by developing its own dedicated platform for this purpose, named “High Court of Kerala – Live Streaming Courts.” This bespoke platform is designed to cater specifically to the needs of the public and legal community, ensuring that the proceedings are delivered seamlessly and securely.
The decision to live stream was clarified by the High Court as being integral to the judiciary’s ongoing initiatives to integrate digital technologies into its operations. This move is aimed at demystifying the judicial process and making it more approachable for the common citizen.

Today’s proceedings, featuring the Full Bench of Justice A Muhamed Mustaque, Justice Shoba Annamma Eapen, and Justice S Manu, will be the first to be broadcasted live on this new platform. The session is anticipated to set a precedent for future court proceedings, highlighting the court’s commitment to transparency and digital inclusivity.
The implementation of this digital initiative by the Kerala High Court not only marks a significant progression in judicial transparency but also sets a standard for other courts across the country. By allowing the public real-time access to court proceedings, the judiciary is taking a significant step towards ensuring that justice is not only done but seen to be done.
